OMNI saysLayer 5 — kernels — are boot artifacts distilled from memory; they boot, they don’t edit.
A kernel is a compressed, distilled seed produced from memory by the DISTILL verb — the essence the system needs to WAKE into its next operating state. Per R5, kernels boot the system but never edit live state themselves. Think of a kernel as a save-game or a seed crystal: it captures "what matters" so the next session starts informed rather than blank.
Power-ups you unlock
Kernels = distilled boot artifacts
Produced from memory via DISTILL
Kernels boot, never edit (R5)
Like a seed/save-game for next WAKE
The Silent Failure attacks — common mistakes
Kernels mutating live state (violates R5)
Skipping distillation (no kernel to boot from)
Bloated kernels that aren’t truly distilled
Boss battleExplain how DISTILL turns accumulated memory into a kernel.
